In line with U.S. foreign education policies and its commitment to diplomatic authorities in Washington, D.C., the U.S. government emphasizes collaboration with countries worldwide, particularly on issues of transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption in education. Since educational systems and academic structures vary across nations, academic records may differ in terms of programs, courses, methodologies, and national standards. For international students, obtaining formal clearance from both the U.S. government and their home country is crucial for recognition and validation of academic credentials.
Based on the details of a student’s academic record, the U.S. government may require a No Demand & No Inquiry Certificate to confirm official clearance in its database. This certificate may also be necessary if any inquiry arises from either government. Students must obtain this certificate through American Board of Higher Education Commission to ensure their academic record is fully cleared.
The certificate acts as a formal safeguard against future disputes or investigations related to the student’s academic file. Once issued, no government agency may initiate additional inquiries regarding that record. Certificates are granted only after a thorough verification process, during which all documents are carefully reviewed by relevant U.S. governmental departments, including financial authorities and educational oversight bodies. Following this review, the (ABHEC) Audit Committee, under the California Central Department, evaluates the findings and forwards them to the U.S. State Department for official issuance of the certificate.
